Self-care Is Not Just For Other People

Do you ever forget to take care of yourself? 

I know that you are busy and finding time for yourself can be hard.  But if you don’t, it won’t be long before you are operating from a place of exhaustion and just going through the motions. 

According to a study at North Carolina State University, self-care is the active participation in enhancing the quality of your health.

Who doesn’t want to enhance the quality of your health which would in-turn enhance the quality of your life?

There is a belief out there that self-care is indulgent but the reality is that you can only sustain your physical and mental health when self-care is a non-negotiable priority.  Taking care of yourself allows you to be the best possible version of you.

Making Space By Clearing The Clutter

As I write this blog post, I am sitting on a park bench in a beautiful green space waiting for my son to complete his first in car driving lesson.   With the post being about clearing the clutter, it makes me smile thinking about how that is the last thing on my mind right now.   And it feels so good!

With the warmer temps and longer days in my part of the country, the idea of clearing the clutter is as exciting to me as not needing to wear as many layers.  I know that I am ready to shed what no longer serves me, whether it is extra layers or clutter.

So many of my conversations lately have centered around everyone’s desire to let go of all of the clutter.  This tells me that I am not alone.

Creating A Morning Ritual

What comes to mind when you hear the words “morning ritual?”

Just hearing the words may bring up feelings from “What’s that?” to “I wouldn’t start my day without it” and many things in between.

Many of you may be thinking that it’s a great idea but “I just don’t have the time to add one more thing into my already jam-packed schedule.”  If this is the case, I want to let you know that I have also been there. 

Until recently, I had no idea the meaning of a morning ritual.  My morning ritual would consist of getting started on all of the things that needed to be done.  Many times this would happen without even energizing myself for the day.  After all, isn’t life all about getting things done?
