It’s Finally Here!

It’s been a long time in the making, but I’m excited to share with you that my website has been updated. Not a major rewrite, just some needed enhancements.

Updating the website was not an easy process for me. How did I want it to look? What was I going to say? What’s the best way to show up as myself? How can I show my playful side?

So many things to think about and that doesn’t even include the ever important…what to wear!  🙂

I Would Like To Give You Permission

Recently, I was talking to one of my closest friends and the topic of wanting more in our lives came up. She shared with me how she really wanted more out of her life, but felt ashamed with her desire for more.

From the outside, her life looked really good. She was in a supportive marriage, she was financially secure, and all of her basic needs were taken care of.

Yet she still had this desire for something more. It was a yearning that was becoming stronger and stronger, but she kept telling herself that she “should” be happy with her life as it is.

Things Are Not Always As They Appear

It happened again…

You may be wondering what “it” is, so let me fill you in.

My family has experienced the last of our four transitions in what I’m calling “The Season of Transition”. That’s a season, right?

With two graduations and one wedding behind us, I was preparing myself for what I knew would be my hardest challenge…saying goodbye to my youngest, my “baby”, as he went off to college.

I’m done…

Maybe you are too.

Let me share what happened to see if you can relate.

I’ve been feeling overwhelmed by lots of clutter in my life. The physical, emotional, and digital clutter is weighing me down.

Or is it?

Raise your hand if you’re someone who likes things to be within your control. Don’t be shy…I know my hand is fully raised in the air.

Two Graduations, a Wedding, and Beyond…

I’m finally sitting down to write my latest blog post. I’ve known what I’m going to write about for weeks, but life kept getting in the way.

The intention to write was there, just no follow through. In the past, I would have thought negatively about my struggles to finish but not anymore!

I know the next two months will see lots of change for my family. Some days, I just want to slow down time. It feels like life is coming at me too quickly.

Receiving Is The Gift You Give Yourself

If you have any kids in your life, you know how much kids love receiving. All you have to do is look at their smiling faces and see the excitement that celebrating a birthday brings.

What’s so great about kids (especially younger ones) is that they are living in the present moment and are not questioning whether or not they are worthy enough to receive.

It’s all about the excitement of living in the moment and receiving is just part of that. Gotta love that!

What comes up for you when you think about receiving?

Take A Page From Elsa

Waking up this morning to a winter wonderland was nothing but magical.  The wet snow clinging to the branches of the trees before making its descent to the ground was awe-inspiring.

Seeing the snow clinging to the trees had me wondering where in your life might you be clinging to something that no longer adds to your life in any way?  It could be a relationship that no longer brings you joy, a belief system that needs updating or letting go of expectations you place on yourself and others.

Holding onto things that no longer serve you can be life draining.  Living from this place keeps you from experiencing life to it’s fullest.

Stepping Away From Facebook In The Information Age

When I was recently given the challenge to take a two-week media cleanse, I had no idea what the outcome would be. Not only was I stepping away from Facebook and Instagram but podcasts, webinars and blogs too. Could I really do that? Could you?

Meditation 101

When a client reached out to me with a question about meditation, I knew she was not alone. I became curious about it a few years ago. Prior to that, I had heard about the benefits but thought meditation was something that “other” people did. After all, how could I control my wandering mind? (spoiler alert…you don’t)

Learning about meditation showed me just how wrong I was in my thinking. Meditation is for everyone regardless of age, religious beliefs and upbringing.
